Barbie ™ In the 12 Dancing Princesses 1.0 is a software, multi-platform, story-driven game for young players around 5 – 9 years of age or less that enables single players to use gaming skills to overcome obstacles and choreograph dance moves.

This game portrays Barbie as the character of Princess Genevieve. In the story, Genevieve is 1 of 12 princesses who live with their father, the King. The King invites his cousin, the wicked Duchess Rowena to stay to teach his daughters how to be young ladies. However, Rowena intends taking over the kingdom and cruelly locks the princesses up in various parts of the castle, and poisons the King. Players are challenged to help Princess Genevieve to free her sisters so they can be reunited and save their father and the kingdom.

Barbie ™ In the 12 Dancing Princesses features motion animated dance sequences where players can create special dance movements for the princesses. Genevieve is helped by players to run, jump and twirl around six 3D magical environments which include the castle, the royal grounds, the Golden Pavillion, the Throne Room, and towers and secret staircases. Gifts from each of the sisters that players need to collect, help Barbie, aka Genevieve, to save the King from a poison potion. The game features 19 levels and 4 unlockable mini games for the NintendoDS and 16 levels and 4 lockable mini games for the GameBoy.
